Join me and several of my neighbors on Sunday, December 12 from 12:00-4:00 pm for an outdoor holiday market organized by the Belmont Gallery of Art and Belmont Art Association. This event is one of those rare, serendipitous occasions that’s truly greater than the sum of its parts. Why?
Get your holiday shopping done! There will be vendors selling so many incredible handmade items. We’re talking jewelry, holiday cards, pottery, paintings, ornaments, textiles, drawings, hats, scarves, tea towels, books, and more. And of course, seasonal sweet treats from the Sweetheart Holiday Collection. Plus, no anxiety about whether or not your items will ship in time!
Support local artists and makers. When we spend a dollar on local goods instead of ones sold by large corporations, we not only get a precious and lovingly crafted treasure, but we also invest that dollar back into our community, allowing the local economy and art scene to grow and thrive. Not everyone is able to do this, and it’s a powerful privilege for those who can!
Um, it’s honestly just a very cute look for us all. Bring your Tinder date to show them you’re highly cultured. Take your cousin’s kids who you agreed to babysit except you’re a little afraid of them. Wear cute scarves and take lots of pictures. Not bad for an afternoon in a parking lot.
